These photos were taken at the flash mob pillow fight at Pike Place Market on March 29, 2008. The idea of organizing a surprise pillow fight in a public place probably spread to Seattle from the annual pillow fight in New York City.
Pike Place Market Pillow Fight
Pillow fighters have been swinging away since the official start whistle went off at 3:15 p.m.
Word has spread about these flash mob pillow fights, and the arrangements are easy to find on the Web, so now there seem to be as many cameras as pillow fighters.
After three minutes, the official whistle blew again, and then everyone stopped and cheered as they hoisted their pillows into the air.
